Axiom Verge 2 from Thomas Happ Games will miss its 2020 release and arrive sometime during the first half of 2021. Announced during a Nintendo Indie World showcase last year, the game was originally slated to release on Nintendo Switch in fall 2020. According to a blog post from the developer, a “number of factors” led to the release schedule being pushed into next year. First up, the enemies are more sophisticated than those in the original game. Another factor is the art style is more complex this time out, and another reason for the delay is due to the current COVID-19 situation. The original Axiom Verge is a well-liked Metroidvania available on PC and consoles. The action-adventure has you playing a scientist, who after a lab accident, awakens to find he’s trapped on an alien world. Here you will explore the labyrinthine world to learn more about it, along with how and why you became trapped. A large number of various weapons, items, and abilities will help you along the way. It’s definitely worth picking up, especially if you plan on grabbing the sequel next year.
