CSGO’s previous record was 854,801, recorded in August 2012. Yesterday there were 901,681 players in-game, with around half of those players enjoying the game on official servers. CSGO hasn’t even had a huge content drop to lure players back in, it’s just a timeless classic doing its thing. Perhaps as shooters all move away from the space it inhabits, people’s tastes are beginning to pine for a dose of classic shooter action. At the time of writing, 458,439 players are checking corners and landing headshots in Valve’s FPS. Thanks to SteamDB for the stats.
