Spencer, who has spearheaded Team Xbox since 2014, made this comment while responding to a player on Twitter. “With the imminent arrival of the XSX, what technologies do you think allow this spectacular advance?” the fan asked. “We have been hearing about Raytracing for a few months and recently about photogrammetry. Would this be a new course?” Spencer’s response was posted shortly afterwards, which you can check out in full below. “RT (ray-tracing) on console will be great,” Spencer wrote. “I’m very focused on the work we are doing around Dynamic Latency Input (DLI).” “In my view the feel of games this upcoming generation will change as dramatically as any since 2D to 3D given CPU upgrade, DLI, memory bandwidth and SSD.” Spencer also recently responded to a fan asking when players could expect game reveals, noting that Xbox Series X games would be revealed soon. “Reviewed plans yesterday for continued sharing through launch,” Spencer told a Twitter follower. “Team is doing great work and adapting. I’ve never been more excited about Xbox plans.” “We’ve heard you, you want transparency/authenticity,” he continued. “We plan to keep showing that way, next step is not too much of a wait (games).” So, apparently players will soon get a chance to see what Spencer meant when he said that next-gen presents as significant a jump in progress as the transition from 2D to 3D, with gameplay demonstrations showcasing what next-gen hardware is truly capable of.
