If you’re a big Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater fan, and like what you saw of OlliOlli World last night during the IGN Expo at IGN Summer of Gaming (where we also heard about Doki Doki Literature Club Plus and Sifu), you’re definitely going to like SkateBird. The game, coming from indie studio Glass Bottom Games, will let you “explore lots of bird-sized parks, with simple controls familiar to any pro skating tiny hawk,” which sounds right up our proverbial ally. Better yet, the game’s focus is largely on having a good time; “pulling off tricks is nice, but doing your best is really all that matters,” says the dev, which takes the pressure off somewhat. You’re just a little bird, after all. Check out the trailer below. ““You’re a lonely lil’ bird, and your Big Friend has hung up their board for good. Their job sucks, and lately, they’re barely ever home to play with you. You’re gonna fix all that with the power of being a chill little skateboarding bird.” explains a blurb. “You may be tiny, but the more you skate, the more friends you’ll make. Birds will come check out your park, help you find more parks, and together you’ll (somehow) fix Big Friend’s life! Above all else, skate birds try their best.” SkateBird is launching on August 12 on Steam and Itch, and you’ll be pleased to know it will also be coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC, too.
